Practice loop habits
Run short listen-play-check loops without drifting.
Why this matters
A focused practice loop is the difference between drilling and deliberate practice — it's how a 20-minute session turns into actual progress instead of just time at the bench.
What you should be able to do
Complete 5 focused loops in a row with a clear target, attempt, and correction note.
Estimated focus time: 1.25h
How to practice this on your piano today
- 1. Pick one specific target before each loop (e.g., 'play measure 3 with no F-sharp errors').
- 2. Make one attempt at it.
- 3. Listen for the specific thing you targeted.
- 4. Write a one-line correction.
- 5. Try again with that correction in mind.
